Food — In Defense of the Much-Maligned Tasty Armour Potted Meat
can picture some of you right now gagging as I mentioned how tasty I thought potted meat was..lol..
I wanted to write a short article on why I thought potted meat was such a tasty treat, more specifically the Armour brand potted meat.
We have all heard the stories of what might or might not be in a potted meat can or in hot dogs, bologna or any of the other assorted sausages.
Is it Animal leftovers, hooves etc or as Frank from the movie “Sling Blade” said — “lips, peckers and intestines”…lol..who knows.
Regardless, I think it is delicious, always have.
While growing up my family did not have a whole lot of money, we were somewhat poor but not “dirt” poor. We had a roof over are head, clothes for school and three meals a day.
So, when you do not have a lot of money and have a large family you tend to eat a lot of potted meat, bologna and ramen and my mom was great at making something out of nothing.

Armour’s potted meat comes in a tiny blue round can with a flip top on it and has a similar texture to deviled ham or pate.
