This feature only works linearly: you can continue down a rabbit hole if everyone takes turns “properly” by highlight/responding, and you can enter at any point and trace it backwards (tedious but do-able if you’re insistent enough); but you cannot perceive where this comment “fits” in relation to any other comment, or even whether or not any other comment threads exist — nor their potential relationships to each other (comparitive or contrast)
