31 Days of October: Daily Favorite Cruelty-Free Product #1:

(( North Coast Organics, Death by Lavender Deoderant ))

Since going vegan almost two years ago, I not only became passionate about “eating no harm,” but also “wearing no harm.” That meant giving up all the products I was used to using my whole life, and finding ones that cut out animal products, as well as not testing on animals. It was a piece of cake for me, except for one thing: Deoderant. I must have tried every natural deoderant in the health food store aisles. Nothing seemed to work.

I happen to be one of those people who gets B.O. whether I’m working out, or just hanging out. I’m not embarrassed to admit that, but it’s embarrassing to smell bad when you are around other people. I was even more concerned with perpetuating the stereotype of the “dirty, stinky, hippy vegan” that some people have. Disclaimer: I have no problems with “dirty, stinky, hippy vegans!” ☺ But anything I can do to not offend potential new vegans is important to me.

I will admit that for over a year, my one product I was using every day that did not align with my morals was my deoderant. I won’t name the brand, but it worked wonders, and oh did I feel bad for buying it when I knew the company tested on animals. I was about to give up, when I came across North Coast Organics Deoderant. I was skeptical, but upon reading rave reviews, I decided to try it. I was pleasantly surprised when it worked, and I mean one application in the morning and I was good for the whole day and night. My armpits never stink anymore. They carry other scents, but I’m a mega lover of lavender, so I went with that one.

All of their products are USDA Certified Organic, Aluminum Free, Paraben Free, BPA Free, Not Tested on Animals, and Contain No Animal Ingredients. In fact, the product is made up of only a few ingredients that are listed right on the back, so you know exactly what is going into your body. Yes, whatever you put on the surface of your body, goes IN your body. Why would you want to be using harsh chemicals on your skin and in your body? Here’s the list of Ingredients: (Vegan): Coconut Oil*, Carnauba Wax*, Cornstarch*, Baking Soda, and Proprietary Blend of Essential Oils* . *Certified Organic*

What else is good about this company and product? The containers are recyclable and resusable. The labels are printed in vegan ink on 100% Tree Free/100% Fair Trade Certified Paper. Me likey. You can get a free deoderant by going to their website: http://north-coast-organics.com and “like” them here on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/northcoastorganics A shout out to Vegan Cuts for being the company that introduced me to their product. http://vegancuts.com & https://www.facebook.com/vegancuts

Let me know if you end up trying this product and love it, or if you’re already a fan. Or if you’re reading this and you’re someone I know in real life, and you are interested in switching over to kinder products, don’t be shy to ask for it for your birthday, Christmas, your “veganniversary” etc… Because I just might buy it for you ☺
