Trans in the Bathroom at the Cramps Halloween Show

Halloween 2004, I took in The Cramps at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco. I was threatened with violence in the men’s room, then yelled at while washing my hands in the women’s (but no violent threat there). Trans people are not perverts. They want to use a restroom in safety. Lux & Ivy were great, by the way.

OK so this is awhile ago. The bathroom rights question hung in the air, unless you were at Trannyshack. (People were still saying “tranny”.) Hell, I didn’t even have hip pads! I mean, I’m rocking this little black dress, but dig those biceps, and this girl needs a boo-tay!

I find my own way as a trans person, in old-school terms I’m a guy who does some cross dressing. But if I find myself in North Carolina in a dress with a full bladder, I’m headin’ to the ladies room.
