I really enjoy many of your essays Umair, but your “geeky white guy” response here was kind of weak. You’re right about Ryans’ inconsistencies but, he hardly even gave you a lengthy lecture. Your reaction seems lightly misplaced and a bit ironic.

On the topic:
Fairly good points on the development of power and the WEF. However, you should reconsider or at least provide some data as to why the other institutions you mentioned (UN, IMF etc.) have any real democratic value.
Somebody else already pointed out: How are they not just other players in the same game? Dubbing this a “leftist-line” and denouncing the whole notion is hardly coherent and frankly neglects all you’ve mentioned about “reason, evidence, facts & history”. Usually, your theoretical approach is on the right track, but I see that you sometimes provide conflicting data/conclusions. Many also believe Scandinavia is a perfect social and economic utopia — which is hardly true, especially for Sweden which has been praised extensively. Unless you believe the death of the individual is prosperous of course.
