About me

me :)

Either developing in C algorithms from of one of the first manuals on Neural Networks in 1996 [1] or coordinating the implementation of the first Apple CarPlay system in the Ferrari FF in 2014 [2], I’ve always been fascinated by new digital technologies.

Follow the trends, discover and try new software, hardware and tools. Put them to work to improve what humans can do with machines and with machines’ support. Build teams around an innovative vision (my favorite one). Discover new automation opportunities, make the products smarter or — simply — more usable, optimize processes with new methodologies and tools.

Innovate through digital technologies. That’s what I do, in consumer products — cars and vehicles especially, but not only.

I’m now looking for the next challenge, the “autonomous-x” revolution.
“x” because it’s not just cars. From the Industrial Revolution to the present-day, machines have helped — in a subordinate role — men’s and women’s physical and cognitive faculties. With the self-driving car — made possible by IoT, big data, artificial intelligence — the role of machines changes and, for the first time, we are facing systems with analysis and decision skills equal, if not superior, to that of humans. All the products will become smart and will expose degrees of autonomy [3].

There’s a new world to build and I want to contribute to do that.

[3] It’s a revolution nicely described in Michael E. Porter 2014 HBR article “How Smart, Connected Products Are Transforming Competition” — link. Interestingly enough, this article describes the evolution of the products in the digital age in a way that matches the evolution of my career.
