Hi,
Shouln’t the issue be more about who is selling Apple the spaces they want to develop? You can’t begrudge a commercial interest of expansion, even if the expansion may be viewed in bad taste. Are not the the local governments to blame for selling off public spaces? They had a choice to sell or not, to zone commercially or not. Many companies want to expand in inappropriate ways or areas but we rely on local governments to control it. What makes Apple different? If an oil company wants to develop on designated park land and it’s allowed is it the fault of the oil company for wanting to expand profits or the governemtn that allowed inappropriate zoning rules. We hope for corperations to be responsible but it is the elected officials who make the rules for them to follow.
