“Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”

Theodore Roosevelt

Good morning peeps, meditation done.

Quote for the day:

“Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”

Theodore Roosevelt

Every morning I wake up and feel blessed that I do what I love doing, which is helping people become fitter, happier and healthier. What I do for a living is what I have always done for myself, friends and family for fun and will always do for the rest of my life whether I am getting paid or not.

As a child I used to love reading and writing about anything whether it be fiction or non fiction, but I was obsessed with sport and as I grew older I read more and more autobiographies on my sporting heroes and was fascinated about the methods they used to get great at what they did.

I remember reading that Bobby Charlton had taken a football around on his paper round to improve his dribbling skills, so I did the same. I slept with a football as Pele did when he was a child and ran up the hills everyday with weights on my ankles as Muhammad Ali did.

When I was 19 and an aspiring ballet dancer I read every book on ballet and watched every video of Mikhail Baryshnikov I could get my hands on and practiced all day and everyday.

As I got to the end of my dance career I becamne a football coach and again read every book and every video I could find from around the world especially Brazillian, Dutch and Italian ones for skills, tactics and defending.

Then it felt a natural progression to learn about fitness and I became a personal trainer and became even more obsessed about reading and learning about all the different types of training and taking a lot from body building and sport.

Next was capoeira and yoga, it was difficult to find many English language books on capoeira, most of them are in Portugese, and even though my grandma was fluent and my Brazilian born mother could speak quite a bit of Portugese I have never managed to master it myself or any other language come to think of it. But yoga books I have bought and read many and still continue buying and reading them today.

With the revolution of online fitness I have literally spent hours everyday reading everything I can find on the internet on the subjest as well as business and self help information, my thirst for knowledge is unquenchable, I am always trying to learn the latest advances in fitness and technology as well as learning more about the ancient eastern practices.

And now as well as training and teaching people, yoga, fitness, dance, sport and soon to be Barre I get to practice my other passion of writing everyday through my blogs, books and Beyond Lifestyle and this week I have been approved to write about health and fitness for Early To Rise one of the most popular online Health, Wealth and Lifestyle publications in the states and the English speaking world.

It is a great opportunity for which I am very grateful and feel very honoured and will be spending the majority of the weekend thinking up the topic for my first article in between studying for my BarreToned Teacher Training and celebrating a couple of friend’s Birthdays.

Have a superb Saturday peeps and a wonderful weekend.
