“I always recommend a sensible diet, including lots of carbohydrates and avoiding too much fat. Dancers don’t need different fuel from other people — they just need more of it because they use more energy.”

Good morning peeps, meditation done.
Quote for the day:
“I always recommend a sensible diet, including lots of carbohydrates and avoiding too much fat. Dancers don’t need different fuel from other people — they just need more of it because they use more energy.”

With all the ballet BARRE style training I am doing at the moment as part of my BARREtoned Teacher Training, along with a couple of hours cycling everyday, I am constantly hungry, craving for food, especially carbohydrates.
Yesterday I had a delicious curry at home, expertly cooked, by my friend the very talented, both musically and culinary Gary O’Brien and then slipped my pyjamas on and got into bed to watch, X Factor, I’m a Celebrity followed by Match of the Day, hardly a rock n roll lifestyle I am living these days!
Just as I was getting to the end of I’m a Celebrity and looking forward to watching my favourite program Match of the Day I got a text from Isabel one of the friend’s of my longest standing girl friend as in friend who is a girl, Jane Hutchful formerly William’s who I have known since I was thirteen. Jane is the mother of my God Children and is over in London this weekend from her home in Verbier celebrating her Fiftieth Birthday.
The text read,
“Isabel…. That’s me….Is very pushy and insists you come tonight!!!! We have a huge table….Would make Jane so happy!!! Have ordered way too much food, you have an obligation to come really….She needs a blast from the past, please. Breakfast is so boring.”
I had never met Isabel before and she had been arranging surprises for Jane and had been keeping me in the loop with the secret itinerary and I had opted to miss a big night out as I am doing a BARREtoned display at the opening of the largesst Lululemon store in Europe at the Shepherd’s Bush Westfield at 1pm today, so had arranged to meet for breakfast at the Berkley Hotel in Knightsbridge this morning.
I tried to explain to Isabel that it would take me at least 45 minutes to get there, but she was not having any of it, so I jumped in the shower, got changed and cycled like Bradley Wiggen’s to E&O in Notting Hill and walked in to surprise Jane, the look on her face, the huge smile and tight hug she gave me, was worth the effort of jumping out of bed, the mad dash, not forgetting missing Match of the Day.
At first I turned down the offer of food as the girls had finished and I had already had a curry, but Isabel was again insistant and after a pint I succumbed to some spare ribs and steamed rice and could not believe how hungry I was after my cycle.
After one more pint and a shot of Sambucca for Jane and myself, lots of laughs, reminiscing over so many memories and taking the obligatory selfless together, so Jane’s God children could remember what I look like as I haven’t been to Verbier for a while actually nine years, which I will rectify this season, we bid farewell and I cycled back to Putney and couldn’t believe I was still felt hungry when I got in to bed after all that food.

I have woken up this morning, still hungry, so I am going to have some breakfast, do some Sun Salutations to warm — up and practice my BARRE display before heading to Lululemon to be ready for my 1pm start.
Have a Super Sunday peeps
