“Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions louder than your words.”
M. Scott Peck

Good morning peeps, meditation done.
Quote for the day:
“Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions louder than your words.”
M. Scott Peck
Morgan Scott Peck was an American psychiatrist and best-selling author, best known for his first book, ‘The Road Less Traveled’, published in 1978.
In ‘The Road Less Traveled’, Peck wrote of the importance of discipline. He described four aspects of discipline:
- Delaying gratification: Sacrificing present comfort for future gains.
- Acceptance of responsibility: Accepting responsibility for one’s own decisions.
- Dedication to truth: Honesty, both in word and deed.
- Balancing: Handling conflicting requirements. Scott Peck writes of an important skill to prioritize between different requirements — bracketing.
Peck’s book begins with the statement “Life is difficult”.
Peck argues that life was never meant to be easy, and is essentially a series of problems, which can either be solved or ignored.
Peck defines discipline as the basic set of tools required to solve life’s problems.
Peck argues that these are techniques of suffering, that enable the pain of problems to be worked through and systematically solved, producing growth.
He argues that most people avoid the pain of dealing with their problems and suggests that it is through facing the pain of problem solving that life becomes more meaningful.
Peck states that it is only through taking responsibility and accepting the fact that life has problems, that these problems can then be solved.
His perspective on love in The Road Less Traveled is that love is not a feeling; it is an activity and an investment.
He defines love as,
“The will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth”
As Peck says in ‘The Road Less Traveled’,
“Love is as love does.”
It is about giving yourself and the other person what they need to grow. It is about truly knowing and understanding them.
I believe we all have fears in life and if we are not careful we can let these fears prevent us from achieving our dreams, goals and happiness in life and love.
We think of all the reasons we cannot do something instead of doing all the things we need to do to make things happen.
In love we often don’t let ourselves truly love someone, because we are scared of getting hurt.
At the same time how many times has someone said to you, “I really love you.” And then they go and do something that is completely opposite to the actions of someone that loves you.
Is it any wonder having experienced this so-called “Love” from the wrong person, you have become fearful of true love?
But it is important that you do not let this fear hold you back in life, you need to make sure your dream of achieving your goals and finding happiness from true love with a person whose actions show they truly love and respect you is bigger than your fears that are holding you back in life and love.
By dealing with your fears and taking action to overcome them, you will find the true love and happiness you deserve.
Remember,
“Actions are louder than words”
Stop talking about it, take action and do it.
Have a thoughtful Thursday peeps, I am off to make things happen
Breathe, Believe and Achieve
Be Happy, Healthy and Wise
Keep on Winning, Smiling and Living the Dream
Namaste
