“Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.”

Oprah Winfrey

Good morning peeps, meditation done.
 Quote for the day:

“Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.”

Oprah Winfrey

Aptly I have begun my day today with Day 19 of Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra’s

21-Day Meditation Experience — Shedding the Weight: Mind, Body and Spirit!

Day 19

Living Life with Love

I find myself in a world created by love.

Aham Prema — I am love.

In today’s meditation, we learn about the transformative power of love.

Love is the essence of the true self. If you can act from a space of love, you bypass the judgments and burdens of the ego. So expressing compassion, forgiveness, kindness, and a sense of purpose comes easily.

Love expresses itself with tenderness, but it also provides great inner strength.

Our centering thought for today is:

I find myself in a world created by love.

Yesterday morning after Oprah and Deepak’s Meditation and writing my Quote for the Day I began my day with a 7am Conference Call with David Ertle, Jemima Bird, Philip Jarvis, James Lucas and Christian Banfield I was struck by the collective strength of the group and as I was leading the call, my brain felt it was going to explode from the heat created by the speed it was having to react to the intellects on the other end of the line.

I came off the phone mentally exhausted, but buzzing with excitement and a feeling that I really need to raise my game to make sure I am up to the level of the rest of the group.

I spent the next few hours putting into action what had been discussed and was very grateful for a reminder from Jeff Riley about something I had forgotten to do in my morning rush.

After lunch I corresponded with my friend Ben Iravani and Design guru Brent Richards and then was delighted by a blinding suggestion by Ian Daniell for a brainstorming trip next week.

A twist in fate meant I got to spend the evening with my mother Sheila Macdonald and finally go for my belated Birthday dinner with her a week after the event.

Over a delicious meal at the Royal Hotel in Cromarty we discussed a variety of subjects.

My mother used to live on a farm on the Black Isle in the Highlands, which helped develop her love of animals, which explains why she lives there now overlooking the sea and snow tipped mountains with a house full of cats and dogs.

My mother had a vegetarian meal and I had Cullen Skink and Roast Breast of Duck, glazed in honey, my mother did her usual, I couldn’t eat that because of the poor fish and duck and then described a picture she had seen that day of a dolphin eating a fish in the Firth that sits outside her house and how it had upset her.

After finishing a mouthful of duck, I replied, that is just nature mum, animals eat other animals, eagles eat other birds, birds eat fish, worms and crabs, whales and dolphins eat tonnes of fish and fish eat other fish and things that crawl along the bottom of the sea.

Humans eat animals and fish today just like we always have since the creation of mankind and other mammals.

I did wonder however and what point did we start cooking meat and fish as opposed to eating it raw like other animals including our pet cats and dogs would have originally in the wild before they became pets and before there was tinned cat and dog food?

I love animals, but I also love eating meat and fish, but I hate when they are killed in a cruel way for the sake of profit, which questions the part I play in this by having an omnivore diet as opposed to a vegetarian or vegan diet.

My big question for the day is if humans stopped eating meat, what would happen to the cows, pigs and sheep we see roaming in the fields of the countryside today?

My other question for the day is if you are a vegetarian or vegan and you own a pet cat or dog what do you feed them?

As far as my mother and I can recall, we have never seen vegetarian cat and dog food in the shops, although I am sure there must be, I just have not personally seen it for myself?

My conclusion to my thoughts is that I have obviously had too much time on my hands to think recently and I definitely need to get back to work tomorrow morning starting with a new client in Chelsea and teaching at BARREtoned tomorrow lunch time after a much needed 3 week break from London and teaching to recharge my batteries and spend time working and focussing on the bigger picture.

Have a wonderful Wednesday peeps, I begin the day grateful for the amazing people in my life who lift me everyday and keep me at the top of my game.
