Plato

Good morning peeps, meditation done.

Quote for the day:

“The greatest wealth is to live content with little”

Plato

Plato was a philosopher in Classical Greece and the founder of the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. He is widely considered the most pivotal figure in the development of philosophy, especially the Western tradition.

Along with his teacher, Socrates, and his most famous student, Aristotle, Plato laid the very foundations of Western philosophy and science.

In addition to being a foundational figure for Western science, philosophy, and mathematics, Plato has also often been cited as one of the founders of Western religion and spirituality.

Plato’s influence on Christian thought is often thought to be mediated by his major influence on Saint Augustine of Hippo, one of the most important philosophers and theologians in the history of Christianity.

The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy describes Plato as,

“One of the most dazzling writers in the Western literary tradition and one of the most penetrating, wide-ranging, and influential authors in the history of philosophy.”

When I write down my 10 life goals everyday, three of them,

1. I am practicing yoga, meditation and the splits everyday

2. I am going on long walks in the country up hills with Zeus and Zorro every day

3. I am teaching kids sport, dance and yoga everyday

They cost little money, so as long as I have a roof over my head, food in my mouth and can walk to work, I do not need very much to be content in my life and walk around with a smile on my face everyday.

Which means according to Plato one of the greatest philosophers in the history of mankind, I am very wealthy.

Too often we are chasing the material things in life that having an abundance of money can buy, but do these things really make you happy?

You can have all the money in the bank, huge houses, flash cars and clothes, with huge rocks on yoiur fingers, but if you are not happy or content with your life, then you are actually really poor.

What makes you happy in your life?

If it always involves having lots of money, then you will never be wealthy and you will never be happy and will remain ultimately poor.

Learn to be content with little and grateful for what you have and you will become happy and wealthy for the rest of your life.

Have a super Saturday peeps and a wonderful weekend

Breathe, Believe and Achieve

Be Happy, Healthy and Wise

Namaste
