Thank you! I admit, I use the word refactor way too much. Recently, I sort of knew I was using the term refactor wrong but never took 2 min to think what refactoring was and what it’s not. If I am updating legacy code, 99% of the time changes of behavior happen because of such poor code quality.
Do you think we could call this revamping code? Does “refactor” fall within a group of several defined types to categorize what work has been done?
