Matthew 11: 28–30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Jesus knew we would have burdens and some would be heavy. God did not intend for us to carry the heavy weight of burdens that come to us, Jesus said come to Him and we could give Him our heavy burdens. In the Greek the Word burden means, grievously heavy weight. If we try to carry the heavy weight of burdens we will lose our joy, peace, and focus. Jesus said His burden is light, we will not be burdened down by the weight of things if by faith we give Jesus our burdens because we can not accomplish the things God has for us if we are trying to carry heavy weight every day and night.
How many of you are weary? I know I have been weary at times and lost my joy and my peace. Sometimes I would think will this ever end? Have you noticed weariness causes you to not desire to do anything but think on negative things?
We who are saved have the Light of Jesus within us. We do not have to walk around hoping people will see our light. What does a light do? A light shines, but weariness comes to dim the Light of Jesus within us and we can easily become disappointed and discourage.
Jesus says give Him our weariness and take His yoke, learn of Him. Jesus is gentle and kind. He draws us unto Himself. The word yoke in the Greek means, coupled together. When we are coupled together with Jesus, we will realize His burden is easy and His yoke is light and then we find rest for our souls.
Father in JESUS Name I ask YOU take my burdens and my weariness because no longer can I carry them. I choose to exchange all of of my burdens for your easy yoke.
In Jesus Name
