Yeah — I think it’s like painting or sculpture. If you don’t give kids the opportunity to paint or play with some clay — they won’t ever discover that they (a) have a passion for it and (b) are actually very good at it.

So we do have to teach it (preferably at a young age) — and understand that a good percentage of kids will get as far as the third example program and give up. That’s fine — you can’t teach a love for programming — and if you don’t love doing it, you’ll never be any good at it.
