Reminds me of how, in the old days, local radio stations would get blindsided by the effects of on-air contests. They’d hide a prize somewhere in the community and then give progressively more targeted clues on its location. The more ambiguous earlier clues would send crowds poking around private property with howls of outrage from property owners. Of course, this is on a global scale. Seems like these homeowners have a legitimate right to expect people to stay off their property, but have no rights to stop people from using the park of the streets.
