Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Ep 8: The Great Collision of Worlds Is Upon Us!

The great collision of worlds has finally happened in episode 8 and it was everything I dreamed it would be and then some. After numerous episodes offering only certain combinations of the following, Junta (and his younger brother Seita) are finally in the same room as Kubo, Kubo’s older sister Akina, and Kubo’s younger cousin Saki. But this incredible gathering doesn’t just happen once but twice and on a group picnic of all things.

Although the situation promised and delivered a whole bounty of drama and fun interactions, the event consists of many elements that were already pre-established in earlier episodes: Kubo’s relation with cooking, Seita’s role in Junta and Kubo’s relationship, and even Akina’s drinking. It’s through these perspectives that I will tackle this particular write-up.

Kubo’s Relation with Cooking

Kubo’s cooking (and baking) have played an important role in earlier episodes where it’s been well established already that Kubo isn’t a fan of nor is she proficient in either of them. And yet, Kubo went above and beyond for Valentine’s Day when she baked Junta something from
