“It means you’ll make less, certainly.” — Not necessarily. Perhaps it means the probability of a huge payout is much less, but it doesn’t mean you’ll certainly earn less. For every tech entrepreneur with a $100mm payout, I’d argue there are are 100 small businesses with a $2-$5mm payout in earnings.
