Spring 2019 Student Jobs in Emerging Technologies Lab

For the Spring Semester (Jan-May), the Reese News Lab and the Emerging Technology Lab are looking for committed students to work on various projects as Media Innovation Fellows.

Fellows work on interdisciplinary teams to design, develop and execute new uses of emerging technologies to solve problems. Some of the projects we are currently working on include Ai Journalist, Robot Journalist, Endurance VR, and Augmented Reality photogrammetry.

The lab is under the direction of Steven King and innovation fellows will be managed by the lead project manager or the Technical Director.

Fellows are paid hourly and are expected to work 10–20 hours per week. Most of the work is performed in the office on collaborative teams.

Equipment Tech and Support (Robots and Drones)

Works with lab team to ensure all robots, drones and vr equipment is in working order and works to improve the capabilities through mechanical and software enhancements. (View Posting)

Lab Tech Lead (experienced student)

Familiar with most or all lab technologies (VR, AR, web dev, etc) and equipment and is responsible for keeping the lab organized as well as providing first line support for lab workers. (View Posting)

Works with various technologies to develop and deliver products and solutions in various technologies and languages. See specific postings for details.

Project Manager

Responsible for managing timelines and deliverables as well as communicating issues and changers across teams and individuals.

Product Manager

Responsible for ensuring the goals outlined by the product owner are met. Tests new and existing features of products as development is completed to ensure product meets goals and there are no regressions.
