The Trump VP Candidate Antidote to Taylor Swift
Megyn Kelly has been hinting on who she believes will ultimately be Trump’s vice presidential (VP) selection and in her latest Youtube Short clip on the topic, she might as well just come out and name her because she dropped major clues on who this mysterious VP pick would be. In the clip, which should not be too long to watch, Kelly suggests this pick would be from the South and would “do, what he wanted her to do” and would not be a threat to him as the other VP picks that she was ostensibly discussing on that particular show. The big hint to who this could be came when Kelly categorically ruled out Arkansas governor and former Trump press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders. This only leaves only a few possibilities among prominent women politicians from the South who are realistic VP candidates, who would “do, what he wanted her to do” and could “potentially be the future of the party.”
There’s not too many women that fit this description if it’s not Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Nikki Haley doesn’t fit the bill because she poses a threat to Trump and will not do exactly what he wants her to do. Majorie Taylor Greene (MTG) doesn’t fit the bill either because while she does not pose a threat to Trump and would do what he wants her to do, she has not been considered a viable national figure that could be deemed the future of the party that the VP slot demands. She would be a very polarizing choice, whether fair or not, and her personal life has been rocky to put it mildly, having a recent divorce on her record.
So that leaves the only possibly person who can fit the bill. From the great state of Alabama, Senator Katie Britt! She is young (age 41), she’s from the South, conservative and very attractive. You can read her Wiki to learn more about her here:
If she were chosen to be Trump’s running mate in 2024, it would send shockwaves through the political world like the selection of Sarah Palin did in 2008. Like Palin, Britt would be a relative political unknown from a backwater red state, but who’s attractiveness, charisma and great family story would captivate conservatives and the GOP base, while being an instant lightning rod to the Left who would be caught off guard and threatened by her political appeal because she would appeal to those looking for a fresh face in politics. In 2008, it was often said of Sarah Palin when she was first chosen that she was “a breath of fresh air.” Sarah Palin undoubtedly gave John McCain’s flaggingly campaign at the time a major boost but ultimately her novelty was also her undoing, as she was a blank canvas the Left and media quickly painted the way they wanted to in order to diminish her impact on the race.
For Trump, Katie Britt would seem to be exactly what he needs in a running mate in 2024. She would help him unite both wings of the party, currently serving as US Senator from Alabama and also being the former chief of staff for Richard Shelby, one of the most known Establishment figures in Washington in recent history. She would also appeal to the evangelical base of the party hailing from the heart of the bible belt in Alabama.
But just as important as her ability to help Trump unite the GOP, is maybe her personal life. Some media reports have already suggested that Taylor Swift (age 34) will prove to be Biden’s secret weapon to defeat Trump in appealing to white suburban women and young people, captivated by her pop star status and her romantic relationship with NFL Hall of Fame bound tight end star, Travis Kelce.
Well, Katie Britt can also boast to having a relationship with a NFL player of her own, albeit a fomer one, in her husband Wesley Britt. He was by no means of the caliber player that Travis Kelce is for the Kansas City Chiefs, nonetheless he possesses the look of a very formidable protector, as fitting for someone who played as an offensive linemen in the NFL, though for a short span. Wesley did have a great college career at the University of Alabama (first team All-SEC and 3rd team All-American in 2004) and like Kelcie, has two brothers who also played football and both for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
While these are some parallels between the two couples, the Britts possess something that Swift and Kelcie do not and that’s a family. They have been married for 14 years and have two children, a boy and a girl.
Another contrast with Swift would be on abortion. Where Taylor Swift is advocating for unfettered abortion making her a political heroine of feminism, Katie Britt comes from the state of Alabama that boasts perhaps the most restrictive abortion law in the nation. This is sure to make Britt, whether she wants it or not, a political heroine of the GOP white evangelical base.
This would be a clash of epic portions. Two successful, attractive, young women on the polar opposites sides of the political spectrum vying for the votes and interest of voters looking for something new and refreshing in the current world of politics occupied by two octogenarians! And both with prominent football hunks as significant others. In Britt, you have a new Senator and wife, not quite known nationally, but her pick would be as impactful as Sarah Palin’s surprising selection in 2008. Swift a pop star who is Super Bowl bound because of Kelcie and is not shy about her leftist political views and opinions. One for abortion and one against. The headlines, drama and attention this clash will create will be delicious this fall! Definitely, something that a Manhattan billionaire will not shy away from.
