Don’t throw sand over my eyes. On the burkini ban and European cruelty

I am a white American male. Raised Jewish with no love for Islam. Just to get that out of the way.

There is absolutely no reason that a woman should not be allowed to wear a Burkini at the beach anywhere in the world. It is more modest than a one piece suit, but hides no weapons as far as I can tell.

So what is the harm if it is her choice and not something demanded of her by a domineering husband?

If we look back to the early part of the last century, even men bathed with much of their body covered and women covered up in pretty much as modest attire than the Burkini.

I get that it advertises that they are Muslim, but a Yarmulke does that for a Jew, and you can spot Amish a long way off. So what? Let them dress as they wish if there is no danger of hiding weapons.

The world is a crazy place. The beach is a good place to go to forget your troubles. Let it be.
