The Influence of Art

Oscar Wilde famously quoted “Life imitates art far more than art imitates life.” People are fascinated by all forms of art rather it be in a painting, music, fashion, architecture, or any other manifestation. Art both liberates and inspires one to become more. Captured by it’s lure a person’s natural inclination is to immerse themselves into the art form by either creating it, buying it or wearing it; ultimately by experiencing it. The influence Art wields is expressed through it’s originality; it has it’s own voice and it’s own world. Art, by definition, is only for a select few and never for the masses. What influences people to gravitate towards it is the fact that one must be a member of the group and appreciate the art for what it is. It is scarce therefore it is valuable and those who are influenced by it will protect it and follow it.
