I can slice this topic ten ways to Sunday, but the point is the author should have simply stopped running his mouth about his Github profile and learned some algorithms. I set aside about one hour a night for a month getting ready for interviews and it paid off. Is 30 hours really that much to ask for getting a new opportunity?

It all just reeks of entitlement, even if this guy does have an impressive Github profile. What I love about this interview process is that you get out what you put in. If you spend the time to sharpen your skills, you will see results. I struggle to see how that’s a bad thing; it’s certainly better than getting a job for reasons like “who you know” as opposed to “what you know”.
