How Ghostcodes Solves One of Snapchat’s Biggest Problems
A common question most Snapchat users ask is, “How do I find cool people to follow on Snapchat?”
One of the biggest problems with Snapchat is discoverability. Before the brilliant app was created, it was difficult to find people who have similar interests as you and followers who would be relevant to your content. You would have to rely on other social media channels, videos, blog comments, and a little bit of internet digging to find your targeted community.
Ghostcodes is now changing the Snapchat game with their brilliant iOS app (Android version coming this month) that allows a user to find Snapchat users based on their interests.
The discovery function has a full list of categories such as marketing, entrepreneurship, brands or even celebrities. For example, if I wanted to find a Snapchat user who is into marketing, I can select the marketing icon in categories and it would display a list of the top Snapchat profiles ranked based on kudos (likes) with an interest in marketing that would allow me to browse through different users.
The other powerful feature of Ghostcodes is the ability to find users based on their interests through the search function. Each interest category with have a number next to it to show how many users share that same interest. With this function, the possibilities are endless. If I am into a more niche topic of video games, I could simply search Tetris and find users through that search term. And if that interest category does not exist, I can create my own interest category through my profile.
Imagine how much visibility and followers you could get by being the first person to be on that interest category…
With a tap of a button, you can download a user’s snapcode to your photo library add them later on.
Now you can finally find the people you want to follow and not worry about inappropriate pictures or boring stories that you keep tapping through!
Not only is finding new people easier, but you can now organically grow your followers and attract the targeted audience to your account. GhostCodes allows you to upload your own snap codes and provide a brief description about yourself or your business, so that people can connect with you.
The caveat here is to get as many likes as you can. More likes=more visibility, which leads to more followers. Although likes is the only ranking indicator at this point, Ghostcodes claims that they will include other ranking factors in the next update.
Oh yeah, and you can even boost the amount of followers on your other social media accounts like Facebook and Instagram. Ghost codes allows you to link your social media profiles to your account and if someone taps on the icon, it will take them directly to your main page… this right here is an incredible function in itself.
This platform is overall very simple to use and is a great way to connect with other Snapchat users and solves the fundamental problem that snapchat has. With Ghostcodes, you can now better communicate your brand and what kind of content you will be posting on your stories. This will allow you to filter your audience and maintain an organic engagement.
I’ve personally used the app for two days and have already met so many awesome Snapchat users that I never thought I would find. Big things are to come in the next updates for Ghostcodes. Coming from the virtual grapevine, there will be a feature that allows you to view a gallery of images or videos of previous snaps!
