Trifecta in Success
Perspectives toward what success really are.

Success seems to be everyone’s objective in life, but the definition of success can be different for each person. Benchmarks and measurements for success can be varied.
For me, one thing that becomes a common ground for success is happiness. Success has many materialistic aspects such as glories, positions, money, and achievements, but the most important thing is what comes after, which is the happiness that success manifest.
The bedrock of happiness are growth and contribution, therefore the key to success for me is how we can fulfil our potential growth and give maximum contributions.
So I define my success into 3 aspects, they are academic aspect, professional aspect, and social aspect.
Academic Success
The first aspect is academic, I am aware that education and academic achievement can help other people instantly. Not only with the knowledge we get through education, but also when our academic achievement can help relieve our parent’s burden. Helping my parents to pay my tuition with those scholarships might be my academic achievements that become my academic success because they do not only have a good impact on myself but also for other people around me.
Professional Success
The second aspect is professional, maybe my first professional success is when I was in high school. I helped my mother by selling her homemade bread in my school, and fortunately it was always sold out. This may not be a great accomplishment from the value of the money, but it was the first time I could make my own money and help my parents at the same time.
At the time I started my second-year study in Product Design I discovered laser cutting technique. I saw opportunities in the small-scale manufacturing technology because at the time not many people have specialised in the application of that technology. I make various products such as souvenir, gift, and meeting kit for hotels and wedding events. This business becomes a success for me because it was my first business that made me self-sufficient also it made me no longer become a burden and financially rely on my parents even when I was still in college.

Later on after I graduated from my university, I discovered a new form of Product Design from a cup of coffee. I discovered that coffee has in-depth cultural value and ultimately coffee is the result of Product Design. In 2015, six months after my graduation, I decided to set up a coffee shop (Coffee Cult) which serves local coffee exclusively. I set up my shop in the university area, at the time coffee business was still something newly grew. Not many coffee shops aiming at college students for their market, because at the time coffee shops are considered weekend luxury instead of daily support. Opening a coffee shop becomes my success because I was introducing specialty coffee culture to college students and young people, I happen to create changes in daily coffee culture among young people and educate the market through the product I serve.
I built and designed almost every aspect of my coffee shop. I did the interior, furniture, and the graphic design for the shop, and it becomes my ultimate Product Design output. As time goes by the customers not only enjoy the coffee products offered but also have connected and build a good relation with me. Some of them even hire me for their design and business projects. The place has successfully become my source of income and network, moreover, it enables me to create impact in community around me.
Social Success

The final aspect is social, for me, the greatest success is the social success, because it means that we have fulfilled our potential growth and give maximum contributions. Therefore, in each of my academic and professional success should have social aspect within, because if not, my success will be obsolete and useless to the society.
After all, the true success is when we managed to give back.
