The reason I choose that order is to backup any wallets you currently have imported. Once imported, it is not possible to remove an address, and you shouldn’t store your paper wallet with your hot wallet. So I recommend backing up the current wallet before continuing. After, you are welcome to back up the wallet again after importing.
