Destiny 2 Unveils Significant Stasis Changes Across All Classes

Bungie has revealed substantial changes coming to the Stasis subclass in Destiny 2, aiming to align its power and usability with other subclasses. Originally introduced in the Beyond Light campaign, Stasis, as the first Darkness subclass, has left its mark on Destiny 2, especially in PvP modes, facing several nerfs within its initial year.

As Destiny 2’s Stasis reaches its third year, players have observed a perceived lag behind the reworked Light subclasses and the recent addition of Stasis in the Lightfall expansion. Addressing this concern, Bungie announced in a recent blog post that Stasis would undergo significant enhancements starting from the Season of the Wish and extending through The Final Shape expansion.

The blog post outlined major changes, starting with tweaks to various Stasis fragments. Key adjustments were made to stat bonuses and penalties, enhancing lesser-used fragments, and aligning them with specific gameplay styles. Notable changes include the removal of penalties, additions of bonuses, and adjustments to enhance gameplay synergy.

Changes to Whisper of Hedrons, Whisper of Impetus, Whisper of Shards, Whisper of Hunger, and Whisper of Bonds were highlighted, showcasing a commitment to refining and balancing the Stasis subclass.

Further adjustments are being made to grenades, with the Glacier grenade receiving a reduced cooldown time, and Coldsnap becoming more reliable with improved tracking and arming shape size. Special weapons will also see a boost, with a stronger damage bonus against frozen targets, aiming for more consistent shattering.

Additionally, Bungie teased a future addition called Frost Armor, introducing unique keywords to match other elements. While not part of the Season of the Wish, this feature is designed to enhance Stasis players’ survivability in the long run.

The Hunter Revenant’s Withering Blade, subject to previous fluctuations in power, is receiving improvements. The melee attack will now have increased projectile speed and lifetime, better enemy tracking, and a higher bounce count. The Winter’s Shroud aspect, slowing enemy targets during a Hunter Dodge, is also buffed with expanded area of effect, duration, and stack count, creating better synergy with exotics and grenades.

With these comprehensive changes, Bungie aims to revitalize and balance the Stasis subclass, addressing player concerns and making it a more competitive option in Destiny 2.
