I have never understood why the left defends Islam so vigorously. There is no western ideology, left or right wing, that is as fundamentally opposed to human progress as Islam.

While we argue with right-wing Christians about women’s right to choose, Islam forbids them from driving cars, makes them cover 99% of their bodies in public, and makes them property of their fathers, husbands, and even sons.

While we argue with right-wing Christians about letting gays marry, Islam calls for their death.

While American Christians get butthurt about not saying “Merry Christmas,” Islam calls for (and brings about) the death of people who dare to question the real value of their backwards religion or who draw pictures of their murderous pedophile “prophet.”

There are so many things that separate the left and the right in the US, but it just boggles my mind how we can’t at least unite around the fact that, as bad as the other view might seem, Islam is *objectively* worse.
