There are different classifications based on the type of the equipment you want to drive.

There are two classes of forklift licences are as follow:

· LF Class qualifies you to operate a forklift truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage with a pair of fork arms or other attachment

· LO Class qualifies you to operate an order picking forklift truck where the operator’s control elevates with the load carriage/lifting media.

What are employers looking for in a candidate?

Computer skills also considered as great advantage when applying for forklift jobs but most of the time you will receive training when starting your new job. What are the eligibility criteria to obtaining a forklift licence?

Safework NSW states that to be eligible to obtain your licence, you must be:

· At least 18 years of age Complete a Forklift Training Sydney course with a RTO and have been assessed as competent by an assessor working for the RTO and

· Can use English at a level that enables the safe performance of high risk work
