It’s Not About Race!
John Metta

I appreciate your article and I will try to keep in mind some of its better points. Unfortunately, the Western African culture you refer to as a basis for many Black people’s actions is not accurate. Rap music, gangs, clothing, crime and a lust for material wealth and “power” is not native to Africa. These things are a product of poverty, too many single mothers and poor education. Now you could blame that on White people too if you want. But that is the reality. We must fix many of the inter-city areas. To “fix” doesn’t mean to rob of their culture because it is different, it means to improve. Easier access to quality education, more two parent homes and opportunities for honest work should be the goals, not looking to be named as victims.
