Wow. What a dismissive response to a deeply personal and emotional article (thanks for sharing…

I read the article. And I have read 20 others just like it. It isn’t personal, because he didn’t know the victim. Sure, he may have known someone like Alton Sterling, but that means nothing. You think I don’t know ten people like the Dallas police who were killed? The point is, rallying together as black or white is what got us here in the first place.
And yes, protests as they are performed now, are useless. These protests are not MLK-led peaceful and powerful statements. They are violent, self-serving (in the most specific way evidenced by looting) and moronic.
Also, it is not my responsibility to “listen respectfully” to someone who has no authority on the subject. A black man a scholar does not make. I could go on and on about how I felt police officers are being unfairly targeted but I wouldn’t see the same sympathy that you confused people heap upon BLM.
“ Until then, the LEAST you could do is listen respectfully and refrain from ridiculing those who actually trying to change things.” My point was that writing an article like this doesn’t CHANGE anything. How about, instead of pretending you knew the victim and saying “oh I am so oppressed” why don’t you offer up an actual solution? Instead, you write a long-winded comment that again…does nothing.
