Blockchains don’t scale. Not today, at least. But there’s hope.

This is fantastic work, especially the scientific depth, but apart from this insightful article I have my doubts about the meaning of a scalability solution for BTC or ETH. 
To me, it seems like Blockchains try to circumvent a problem, that wasn’t part of the initial vision. 
Satoshi wanted extremely big blocks, but due to centralization aspects, people decided to work with 1mb and a witness. We know how that worked.

So nowadays solutions look to me like pimping a bicyclee with an engine in a really complicated way, whereas IOTA has been created as a lightweight Ferrari right from the beginning. 
Just my 2cents.
