Who Was Priebus, Trump’s Outed Chief of Staff?
Needless to say, writing this book on TRUMP’S CABINET has been a pain.
Some say it’s a horror, some say it’s a comedy. I say it’s an ever-evolving piece of work, as the President keeps firing staff or they get fed up and walk off the job.
The most recent is REINCE PRIEBUS, so essentially, here is another researched chapter to be deleted from the book, as well as needing to write a new chapter for the cabinet position.
The following is a first draft of one of those deleted chapters, with reference links … for FREE! So enjoy!
WHITE HOUSE CHIEF OF STAFF
Reince Priebus’s real name is Reinhold Richard Priebus. He is a lawyer and politician, and has two children with his high school sweetheart, Sally. His father is of German-English descent and his mother is of Greek heritage but was born in Sudan.
Priebus has been interested in politics most of his life, starting out as a volunteer at the age of 16.
In college, Priebus majored in English and political science and served as student body president at the University of Wisconsin. He then studied law in Florida, but returned to Wisconsin to practice at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.
In 2004, he ran an unsuccessful campaign for WI state Senate, but was elected to the Wisconsin Republican Party chair three years later in 2007, but stepped down in 2009 to be general counsel in the Republican National Committee (RNC). In 2011, he became the RNC chairman.
In December of 2015, he publicly criticized Donald Trump and his stance on banning Muslims from entering the United States. Half a year later, he said that Trump needs to change his tune, as he not the voice of the Republican Party.
In a strange twist of ironic fate, Reince Priebus accepted the role of White House Chief of Staff a year later.
Even his conservatives are critical of Priebus. Jennifer Rubin of The Washington Post says that he is “small and unimpressive . . . bitter and whiny.”
Christopher Ruddy — CEO of Newsmax Media — a long-time friend of Donald Trump says that the Chief of Staff appointee is into a job that is way over his head and that he isn’t knowledgeable on how federal agencies work.
In January of 2017, a New York Times article describes Priebus as “a political survivor from Kenosha, Wisconsin who has never held a major government post before. He has instead accrued his power by courting wealthy donors on behalf of Republican candidates.”
How long Priebus will last with the Trump administration is unknown. According to Politico, aides in the White House have already been scouting out a Staff Chief replacement.
He seems to be the scapegoat for everything that is going wrong with the 2017 Presidency.
A little trivia: He admits that he loves silly comedies above all other films, the examples given: Tommy Boy, Meet the Parents, and What About Bob? So much for intellectual favorites.
