Marek, the automobile industry fought safety regulation tooth and nail, but traffic deaths have been declining even though the number of miles driven has been increasing (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transportation_safety_in_the_United_States). Meanwhile, an increase in numbers of guns clearly leads to increasing numbers of gun deaths. This is true internationally and on a state-by-state basis. Plenty as been and is being to reduce traffic deaths; virtually nothing is being done to reduce gun deaths. Why not try?
