It’s been a long day.
I explored beyond the city center. There is certainly more than the city center with spectacular cathedral and remnant of Mayan pyramid, surrounded by street vendors, commercial shops, and night life. There’s more to see, certainly more to crave for surprises.
What I love about the city is the delicious street-food stalls right by modern, sky-rise buildings with the proximity of traditional European architectures that heavily resemble Spain and France. There is a tremendous history behind Mexico City, particularly Mayan and Aztec influence. Little did I know that there was a castle ruled by a Spanish emperor. The longer I stayed in the city, the more I appreciate the possibility of returning. After-all, the country is right below Southern California border.
Although I love Europe very much, Mexico City entices me with enough European charm with precolumbian history.
