OK, so it seems that when I fast, bad things happen at work. Or maybe during the period that I am blogging about fasting, bad things happen. It’s possibly the universe’s way of giving me some content for my page, but I would much prefer for the universe to go about it in a different way!

You may or may not know that my current occupation is a hook lift truck driver which basically entails picking up large bins, dropping them off and emptying them. …

After an eventfully, awkward waiting room experience yesterday, it’s hard to think that I would have a similar experience today, considering that in these times I am rarely in contact with anymore than a few people per day during my work day.

In general, it was a pretty uneventful day in the life of a bin truck driver. Work has been slowly getting less and less because of the pandemic, so I have found myself trying to slow down a bit with my work to stretch it out for 8 hrs to get a full day.

Whilst it may seem like a good thing to just dawdle along about my day, enjoying the sunshine and singing songs with the birds, in reality, it just seems to make the day drag on too much. …

It’s day one of my 3-day water fast and I’m up for work on this brisk Monday morning. There’s a coldness in the air that reminds you that winter is slowly creeping in on us here in Australia. And it’s Monday. The day that almost every living soul on Earth dreads…

Except those times that you are self-isolating… then Mondays are rad because you get to leave the house!

I count my lucky stars that I am one of the fortunate ones out there that is still able to work in these times, where so many others can’t due to the dumb virus getting about. …

About a month ago, I wrote a post about how to try and get through this coronavirus crisis with regard to your own health and weight loss goals and I suggested that it could be a good time to help regain some focus on your goals and possibly using fasting as a means to help with this.

What I didn’t really anticipate was how much more difficult this can be when you are basically not allowed to leave the house for unessential reasons. …

Unless you are living under a rock somewhere cut off from the world (which I think we all wish we were right now!) you would know that we are somewhat at the beginning of a worldwide coronavirus crisis.

There is not really any other way to describe it. It IS a crisis and things seem to be going downhill pretty fast in some countries and its getting tough out there for some, but we really need to try and stay calm, look after each other and ourselves as best we can.

With regard to eating, many of you will know there are panic buyers and also some plain A-Holes out there trying to stockpile food for their own reasons and getting some of your usual foods is just not going to happen, so what are you supposed to do in this situation? …

So, it’s been a little over a week since I completed a 7-Day Juice fast and it’s been an easy transition into eating life again and getting back into a Keto diet. Fasting is probably the quickest way to get into ketosis and goes hand in hand with Keto or other low-carb diets because you get through the “ Keto flu “ a lot quicker, which is always a good thing.

I can safely say that by day 3, my body was in ketosis where the body had switched from using glycogen as an energy source to using ketones from your fat stores. …

It seems to have come along pretty quickly but the final day of my 7 day juice fast has arrived and I’m looking forward to tasting food again and this is on my mind for most of the day at work.

I am very happy that I have gone through this week without eating and am certainly ready to start fresh and continue to focus on eating well and losing weight in the long term.

The last day of a fast can sometimes be full of anticipation and at times I’ve wanted to finish it early and begin to break my fast, but my stubborn strong will usually kicks in and stops me before I reach my goal. …

Not sure if there is some sort of connection between cleaning out my metabolic system and cleaning out my garage but it is looking that way today, as it shaped out to be as good a day as any to start a job that I have been putting of for some time, or more specifically, most of 2019! The cleaning out of the garage…eek..

No matter how you live, if there ever comes a time when you need to clean out your garage, it’s usually pretty bad.

We have only been at this property for 11 months and moved from a place that was larger than our current place, so it’s no surprise that we would need to store things in there, but over the past 6 months in particular, it has become a bit of a dumping ground for whatever can’t fit in the house. …

Considering on a Friday night, I generally like to enjoy a few drinks to wind the week down, waking up on a Saturday morning feeling fresh without a hangover is quite nice. Maybe it could become a habit, who knows?

So my partner and I sit down and work out what we should do on this fine day. A few ideas get thrown out there but we decide to take the kids to a nearby nature reserve that has a bit of mountain and some nice bushland for a bit of a hike.

We have not been to this place before and apparently it is a place where there can be some gem stones and things like that down there, however, my partner asked me if I would be OK going for a walk like this when I am fasting. I’m like “Sure! I’ve been feeling good the last couple of days, so I am sure I will be fine.” …

In anticipation of hot day today, I made sure that I had plenty of water with me as I set off in my little hook truck to empty some bins. Little did I know, the sun would not shine on me today…literally….it was cloudy all day and the sun barely peeped out and I highly doubt that the temp reached 30°C (86°F) let alone the 33°C (91.4°F) that was expected.

Not that 33°C is overly hot or anything, but nonetheless, it was a bit of a fizzer, especially after my little incident down at the shit plant. …
