Adaptability is the key difference between failure and success.

Adaptation is a profound process.Means you figure out how to thrive in the world. ~ John Laroche

Being able to adapt is very important to an Andelan boot camper. Challenges and blockers are very hard to deal with if you cant adapt to changing and solving them. Andela provides many ways to adapting to challenges, there are the platforms to get help and solutions. The group channels are vital since people get lots of help there, even if you are no good in socializing it gives you an easy way to request for help. Even for someone who is not good in speaking to people or asking for help it gives you a way to adapt to requesting others.

When the boot camp started I had no idea how to structure my challenge and if I was gonna finish out on time. But as time kept on going I kept finding it easy to put everything to place. When I found blockers I first tried to solve them, if it was hard and couldn’t solve them by myself the channel was the place to go and I could help.I kept learning more on the mistakes I made rather than the content I looked up online.

When it came to working in time sprints it was hard since you have new concepts to learn and implement them. The good thing is that it gives you pressure to do the best you got to deliver a days task and that helped me a lot. Before Andela I was good at procrastinating things when they got hard or just leave them be.With Andela boot camp week one I had to give what I had done for the day and it got me to really to work my best to deliver on time. I also learned the essentials of communication since if I was not gonna deliver on time I had to tell the facilitator what blockers I had, how am sorting them, if I requested for help and got it and how long do I think it will take me to deliver. That was helpful since one could understand their strengths and weaknesses.

The week was generally great and lots of learning . I have gained alot from it and looking forward to implement what I have learned and expand my knowledge base.
