I stopped buying anything from the Kindle platform first, when Amazon “customer service” contacted me and informed me that I wasn’t allowed to continue purchasing books from their United States book store, as I as working a lot between Australia and the USA and they had detected this terrible crime – buying digital books from them!
When the stories first came out about just how badly all their employees are treated, warehouse to corporate, pretty much everyone except Bezos I completely ceased purchasing anything at all from their online store(s)
They have us at one spot though. It is near impossible to stop using their AWS server setup, not sure if Medium is on AWS but a good portion or majority even of the WWW and other services depend on this platform. Fingers crossed that Tesla, or another environmentally conscious corp comes up with a good alternative, and ideally using alternative energy.
