Critical thinking takes St. Joseph’s by storm!

Throughout the year the children and staff of St. Joseph’s have been involved in developing critical thinking through asking great questions. Lessons have been focusing on supporting the children to ask higher order questions and to think more deeply about their answers. The aim is to help the children develop a range of strategies in solving non-routine problems. Each week at assembly a child will be awarded a ‘Question of the Week’ certificate.

The British Council and the Geographical Association have published some of the school’s work on questioning and as a result the school is sharing its learning around the world with schools in Jordan, India and Pakistan. We can’t wait to hear back from these schools. Please see the attached article on Developing great questioning techniques — St Joseph’s Case Study can be found on Page 10.
