On “Woke” White People Advertising their Shock that Racism just won a Presidency
Courtney Parker West

”my little black and Indigenous ass
 — have a real big imagination when it comes to the racism and bigotry
that has ruled our country for hundreds of years”
What you have
is first hand experience. Without that experience then neither would you have the imagination. Nobody can imagine the pain of someone else if they have not felt the same pain. That is why self help groups for addicts
are divided into different categories even though each group
suffers the same problem.
An addiction is an addiction is an addiction.
Addiction is when someone reaches for something
to reduce their anxiety caused by life
and then “the something” they reached for
becomes their worst enemy.

But
drug addicts want to share with other drug addicts
sex addicts want to share with other sex addicts
alcoholics want to share with other alcoholics.
shopaholics want to share with other shopaholics

JONNY COME LATELY IS BETTER THAN JONNY STAYS IGNORANT
Be grateful that they finally did wake up
and use that awakening to enlist their outrage,
and call on it to grow into outrage of action.

IT IS ALL RELATIVE
that no matter how bad off he was,
at least he was a white man, better than the black man.

Yes that is a powerful suppression tool,
Just ask the Suffragettes who were duped by black men.
Black men and all women were fighting for the vote at the same time.
Black men talked the women into changing their focus
into getting them the vote then once in power
they would in turn help the women get the vote.
They did the opposite.

WHO CAN YOU TRUST
So is it just men we cannot trust or black men.
Because once the black man got the vote
they made it their mission to keep the women from getting the vote
and succeeded for the next 40 years.

Why? Because black men are are convinced
that “ at least they are better than women who are inferior to them”

A shameful chapter in the history of black men.
Is that part of their history to be found
in their new museum of Black History.
Not likely because remember, History is His-story.

Getting the vote was not just getting the vote.
It meant changing your legal status
from being equivalent to imbeciles and children
- as in chattel to men,
to being a legal person, entitled to the same rights as other legal persons
- as in men, both black and white.

YES WE DO
if you really want to be an ally,
we don’t need your posts or your shock or even your tearful apologies,”

Yes we do need their posts and their shock
and especially tearful apologies
because it has to start somewhere
and starting there is better than not starting at all.

The organizing power needed
has to start with creating empathy in other,
- that your problem is their problem
- that they know how to walk in your shoes
- that they were blind and now can see.

THE MORE THERE ARE THE GREATER THE POWER
It would be great if it did not take them so long but again
it is still better late than never
because
it takes a village to raise a child,
it takes a village to stop hateful forces
it takes a village of empathy and tears.

Nobody can afford to belittle diminish
or push away compassion no matter how late to the table it arrives.
Instead of being upset that the “woking” is late
be very concerned about those who did not wake up yet.

WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND HE IS US
Pogo

These are the non-woken you have to worry about.
Omarosa Manigault
Trump’s director of African-American outreach

“Trump has a long memory and we are keeping a list
of those who spoke out against Trump.
Every critic, every detractor,
will have to bow down to President Trump,” she said.
“It’s everyone who’s ever doubted Donald,
who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him.
It is the ultimate revenge
to become the most powerful man in the universe.”

She also said
“ you don’t want to mess with Ivanka or Eric or Donald jr they are killers”

Bow down? most powerful in the Universe?
that was creeeeepy enough just writing it,
but when you hear her speak it
her tone of voice is reminiscent of the low guttural growl
which a mad dog makes just before pouncing,
sending shivers down your spine.

“Groping is a healthy thing to do,”
Trump supporter Jane Biddick told the Cut.
“When you’re heterosexual, you grope, okay? It’s a good thing.”

IT CAN GET WORSE
Trump is only the tip of the iceberg,
an inevitable and predictable outcome of decades
of political decline of moderates and the rise of extremists.

IT HAS BEEN INSIDIOUS
The media has been totally focused on the wolf at the door
meanwhile the termites in the basement have eaten away at the foundations
which made America great in the first place.

TERMITES IN THE BASEMENT
Since 2008, slowly, but surely, the Republicans
have been quietly and relentlessly been chipping away at the foundations.

Hidden from the limelight out of sight out of mind
they have gained
11 governorships,
13 Senate seats,
69 House seats,
913 state legislative seats,
and 30 state legislative chambers

Larry Sabato, a political expert
at the University of Virginia Center for Politics
“ with more Republicans in control of statehouses,
they have authority over the lines that delineate seats
for U.S. Senate, House and legislative races.
There is a heavy amount of gerrymandering,”

THE PLAN
Chris Jankowski a Republican strategist in 2010
decided to “target states where the legislature
is in charge of redistricting.
flip as many chambers as possible,
take control of the process, and redraw the lines.”

THE EXECUTION
The Republican Party, on the heels of a sweeping loss
to Barack Obama in 2008, hatched a scheme it called REDMAP,
short for Redistricting Majority Project.
It was “the most audacious political heist of modern times,”
writes David Daley, author of Ratf**ked:

The True Story Behind the Secret Plan
to Steal America’s Democracy, a new book about REDMAP.

THE RESULT
America’s most gerrymandered congressional districts
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2014/05/15/americas-most-gerrymandered-congressional-districts/

WHERE TO START
DEFANGING THE ELECTORAL COLLAGE
Without having to amend the constitution.

The bad news is
Hillary won the largest margin of popular votes
more than any other losing candidate,
yet she is not the president.

The bad news
94% of resources were put into 12 states considered the battle ground states.

The vote was the lowest turnout for EITHER party in years
White racists didn’t win it for Trump,
ambivalent and uninspired democrats lost it for Clinton.

Ohio Republicans purged 200,000 voters from the polls June 2016
based on the fact they had not voted since 2008

While the voter purge has been reversed, 31 Oct/16
( was it done in time?)
other voter suppression efforts initiated by (R) Senator Husted remain,
and Secretary of State Husted,
remains in charge of the state’s voting process.

Ohio has aggressively been purging voters
more than other states since Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted took office
“But the state initially refused to permit vast numbers of these voters
to use regular ballots, and is already refusing to send them absentee ballots.”

http://whowhatwhy.org/2016/10/27/massive-voter-suppression-ohio-stopped-just-time/

Florida has been busy purging as well.

Is it any wonder people do not bother to show up to vote,
if you live in a state which is not considered “battleground”
or Republicans are busy purging.

Hopefully this deplorable result
given by the Electoral wakes up enough people
who are shedding enough tears to do something about it.

The good news is
States have the right to determine
to whom goes the electoral college votes.

Saul Anuzis and the Reform group National popular vote
are pushing to have the States mandate
that the Electoral college vote goes to the candidate
who won the national popular vote.

11 states have already signed on to the compact
to change how the allocation is done.
These 11 states have 165 electoral votes
and will activate their compact when they have 270
from any combination of states.

Saul Anuzis is a member of the RNC

MEANWHILE
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Retailers have begun ditching Ivanka’s brand
under the growing pressure of the anti-Trump boycott.

Shoes.com, a Canadian online shoe store,
became the first retailer to announce
it was dropping Ivanka Trump’s shoe line
after the election, in alignment with the launching of
the GrabYourWallet campaign.

Interior decor store Bellacor also reportedly dropped Ivanka products
Campaign has been gathering steam since Trump’s surprise election win

Bannon compares himself to Cromwell.
We can only hope.
Cromwell, was a king maker giving legitimacy to Henry VIII.

In those days with inbreeding and high mortality rates
“Rights” to the throne were spread far and wide
and in constant dispute.

But Cromwell fell out of favour
and once Henry VIII was well established
he had Cromwell beheaded and put his head on a spike
in the town square.

Beware kingmakers everywhere,
Kim Jong Un — killed his uncle and 70 others in the inner circle
( Trump praised him for being a strong leader)

Putin regularly has opposition and journalists murdered
( Trump praised Putin for being a strong effective leader )
( + Trump “joked?” about killing journalists,
really?? …. not really a joking matter )

Stalin regularly purged his inside circle ( a bit paranoid that guy )

Bannon said
“Darkness is good,”
“Dick Cheney. Darth Vader. Satan.
That’s power.
It only helps us when they” get it wrong.
When they’re blind to who we are and what we’re doing.”

Be grateful for anyone who finally starts to see.
