“Why’d I get caught like this? Because I had no education and no parental guidance. I thought that selling crack was the only way to make a living.”
Would that it is that simple; good home life, two parents two cars in the garage.Nope — escaping into drugs is rampant in all socioeconomic levels
Sadly bad parents, are as bad as absent parents.
The good news is that what every child needs
is just one adult to take them under their wing.
It is a testament to your character that even without that one adult
you found an outlet to help you leave.
“The judicial system is completely corrupt.
I was just one of countless black Americans who all suffer the same fate “
Naw — the corruption is to be found in money and fame.
Black and white alike get better deals even staying out of jail
if they are rich or if they are a famous actor or athlete.
Black and white athletes ( our surrogate warriors ) get slaps on the wrists when caught and have handlers to keep them from getting caught.
It is money which corrupts the judicial system.
“America imprisons more of its citizens than anywhere else in the world.”
Biggest number one reason, is they are one of few countries in the developed world which treats drug users as a criminal issue
instead of a health problem.
And if that was not bad enough policy makers got out their shovels
and started add a new layer of sinister to the corruption when they created for profit prisons.
Then just to put the final touch of Americana on it
they allow judges and prosecutors to own shares or have financial interests in those private prisons. The stupidity and open season on corruption of such an arrangement boggles the mind.A deaf mute, blindfolded monkey
could predict the outcome of that sicko marriage.
You are lucky indeed to have such an amazing talent.
Remember all a child needs is one adult to take them under their wing
you have so much to offer a down and out child , I hope you can see your way to do that. I am eternally grateful for my parent-surrogate-mentor
and I still take every opportunity to pay it forward. The giver gets more than the down and out child.
