As the Maltese economy continues to grow with an outlook of 4% to 5% according to the European Commission forecast for the foreseeable future, the need for expatriate employees is set to be around 27,000 annually until the Maltese population reaches the 700,000 figure, according to Ms Dolores Sammut Bonnici the President of the Employers Association. This means that teenage children of these expatriate families who settle in Malta will find excellent employment opportunities after achieving qualifications offered by licensed higher education institutions established in Malta.
