Students from Gozo

You can read for your degree in Malta, and still live in Gozo!

The crossing between Gozo and Malta is exasperated due to an unbalanced lecture schedule

Are you a Gozitan student not relishing the upheaval to find an apartment and moving in Malta to read for your degree?

Saint Martin’s Institute of Higher Education, an Affiliate of the University of London, offers a perfect solution for Gozitan students who wish to read for an University of London degree in Malta, but continue to live with their parents in Gozo.

Thus, they would be saving on thousands of Euro on rent and subsistence, whilst taking advantage of the home that they look forward to return to.

Benefits of joining St Martin’s Institute

The Institute offers its student a time table of lectures spread over a four day week — Monday to Thursday! Students will not have to come to the Institute over the weekend between Friday and Sunday (both days inclusive).
The Institute’s lectures start at 8:30 am and finish at 4:00 pm — no evening lectures due to wasted hours of free lessons between lectures! Students are asked to attend between 4 and 6 lectures of an hour each over the four days and they may then return home every evening.
Students who read for their degree at Saint Martin’s Institute will receive 70% income tax rebate (or their parents if they are paying for the tuition fees) up to a maximum of €16,000 (€3,500 for their MQF level 5 diploma read during the first year and €12,500 as rebate for their MQF level 6 Degree) whilst continuing to live with their parents. The net cost will be of around €6,000 spread over the three year programme. Students who read for a degree from another Institution and need to rent an apartment in Malta, may have to fork out around €6,000 every year mainly to have a safe sleeping pad for the night excluding the expense for subsistence. This amount has to be contributed by families without any tax rebate to make up for the expense.
Saint Martin’s Institute of Higher Education is a very high quality education institution, second to none in Malta. The Institute was audited by the NCFHE in 2017 and surpassed expectations in two standards, especially in student centred teaching. You will be reading for a world renowned degree conferred by the University of London. You may wish to read for a degree in finance that is led by the highly ranked London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), that is a member of the University of London. Read here to know more of the prestige of the LSE that offers academic direction for a number of degrees taught by Saint Martin’s Institute of Higher Education as an Affiliate of the University of London. Saint Martin’s creed towards quality education may be reviewed here with a review of the excellent grades attained by Saint Martin’s Institute of Higher Education in University of London examinations — read here.
The Institute is proposing that the Gozitan Students community at Saint Martin’s Institute of Higher Education will organise a licensed mini van which will pick the group every day from Cirkewwa at 7:30am (or when the 7:00 am Gozo Ferry arrives and drives them in comfort to Saint Martin’s Institute in Hamrun in good time for the 8:30 am lecture) and a return trip to Cirkewwa from Hamrun at 4:15 pm (in time for the 5:15 pm ferry from Cirkewwa to Mgarr, Gozo). The cost of this daily service will be borne by the students’ but will be marginally more expensive than using public transport.
