None of the sources listed offer any data to support the hypothesis. I would agree with the hypothesis that there is less correlation between a good candidate and their ability to perform well on a white board coding problem than any number of other interviewing methods, but to say they’re worthless warrants more substantiation than cherry picked quotes…
Similarly, is there any data to suggest a strong correlation between good employees (especially developers) and either writing proficiency or resume building?
I think we all wish the coding interview was worthless, but I’m not convinced that wish fulfillment corresponds with reality in this instance.
