Facebook is only useful for staying in touch with some friends and family, it’s a hash and can’t be trusted. But ello or tumblr let you make your blog look like whatever you choose. Ello is even ad free. Agree that personal websites are dinos, I hardly ever update mine. What might be different in the last couple of years is posting simultaneously to multiple social media. Sometimes I post to twitter, FB, tumblr, ello and even several others, at the same time. I don’t focus much on links, even when I add them, but on content. If people find the content interesting it will travel across platforms. The next thing would be to comment and interact as much as you can because that’s what makes social media social. I unfollow anyone who does not interact after a few tries. I admire you for having the courage to go back online after prison!
