Say Hello to Storm Foundry
Let’s start by introducing ourselves and offer an insight into who we are and what it is we do. Some may have seen us knocking around since we came into existence around twelve months ago, but we’ve been extremely busy with the sheer amount of projects we’ve been involved with during that time.
Who and why?
We are a small, agile team of creatives with an enthusiasm for gaming, based remotely throughout the UK. We each bring our own mix of experience and knowledge, with a love for building great products and strive to propel the industry forward through our work.
Last year we decided to come together to found a new creative studio, one that would focus on connecting and working with companies directly in the gaming and esports industries. It’s where our passion lies and we think that with our experience, combined with the rate of growth in the industry we feel as a team it’s where we can deliver our best work.
We are finally able to announce our new website! It’s been a slow, painstaking process finding the time we wanted to give it but we are happy to finally introduce our new home. It gives us a place to showcase some of the projects we’re involved with, announcements about upcoming products we’re launching and offers an insight into who we are.
What have we been up to?
One of the disadvantages of being such a small studio is that we are often swamped with work and deadlines, so working on maintaining our own brand get’s pushed down the pecking order. However, that doesn’t mean that we haven’t been busy! So, what have we been up to?
European Gaming League
We just recently relaunched the European Gaming League’s online platform, with a host of new features introduced such as private messaging, the ability to find new team mates and a complete redesign that introduces a fully responsive interface.
One of the most exciting aspects of our ongoing work with European Gaming League is the opportunity to work with their partnering franchises, having most recently launched their platform in South America.
First of all, a huge congratulations on their recent update and going free-to-play, I know how busy their team has been over the last 6–12 months and they’re done a super job.
We spent some time earlier this year working with Stunlock Studios’ Battlerite team to develop a content management system that would allow them to take control of the content they publish within the game’s home screen.
One of the aspects of the project was to prototype an in-game content portal that featured their upcoming patch information, news and announcements. It was extremely fun to work on, and whilst it didn’t ship with the new UI because of technical restrictions it was still a great challenge.
We love to challenge ourselves at Storm. We are constantly thinking about the future of esports and products that will make a difference. Ultimately this is what we are focused on looking ahead to next year with some exciting product launches planned and our continued involvement with our clients and partners.
