Internet service needs a disruptor like Amazon was to retail. Wait, why not Amazon? They already do web services and content. If they bought huge swathes of this so-called “dark air” and “dark fiber” spectrum, maybe they could do some damage. It appears Space-X is going to be launching global satellite broadband over the next several years, too. Low-latency satellite Internet anywhere, anytime? That should keep the cable guys up at night.
