Hey Neil,

Interesting post, but to me the results seem intuitive. If you make sign-ups easier (by removing steps), more users sign up (in 2 out of 3 cases). Some of these new users were less interested/engaged in the first place, bringing your other metrics down.

The question is whether you want a larger pool of less engaged users or a smaller pool of more engaged users?
