IBM CEO Ginni Rometty is stepping down, Arvind Krishna to take over | IBM shares surged up 5% from the news that CEO Ginni Rometty was leaving after assuming the helm in 2012, and fumbling nearly everything she touched. She basically missed cloud computing, shut down the company’s historic efforts in collaboration, and watched the stock dwindle. Jordan Novet points out

During her tenure as CEO IBM’s stock has fallen about 26%, while the S&P 500 has grown 160%.

And it required major stock buybacks to keep the collapse from being much worse.
