SQL Data Interview Series: Highlights and Round Off
Hello everyone 😄. Today’s the seventh, and of course, last day of our SQL (Server) Series. Woohoo! 🥳
So far, we’ve discussed all about:
- Views in SQL
- Differences between views and stored procedures (and when to use which)
- The differences between RANK, DENSE_RANK and ROW_NUMBER window functions
- Subqueries and their uses in SQL
- The differences between subqueries and joins (and which to choose for performance purposes)
- Stored Procedures in SQL (without parameters, with single and multiple parameters)
- String Functions in SQL (LEFT, RIGHT, LTRIM, RTRIM, LEN, etc.)
- Joins in SQL (INNER JOIN, OUTER JOINs, CROSS JOIN, SELF JOINs)
So glad to have come to the end of this week-long SQL streak, so 7/7 ✅. For everyone who followed this SQL devotee on this journey, thank you so much. For the ‘reads’, claps and responses, I’m grateful.
At the beginning of this series, I dropped a link to a SQL Server tutorial playlist by Kudvenkat. Do check it out, as it is quite detailed and informative. Also, check out Alex Freberg’s SQL tutorial- Basics, Intermediate and Advanced.
Also, I have a few SQL projects that could be used for guidance:
- Data Cleaning Project: Cleaning a Messy Job Postings Dataset using SQL (for anyone who wants something different from the FIFA ’21 dataset cleaning)
- Exploratory Data Analysis: Exploring Total Annual Deaths in Nigeria, from 1990 to 2019
- SQL for Healthcare: Querying a Hospital Patients’ Database
- SQL for Healthcare: Retrieving the Second and Third Highest Values without the LIMIT statement
- SQL for Marketing: Querying a Marketing Campaign dataset for Customer Segmentation
From tomorrow, we’ll start our 7-day Microsoft Excel series, beginning with Conditional Formatting.
Thank you all, and hope to see you tomorrow. 🤗
